This remake of the Charlotte Bronte Victorian classic brings a fine performance from Mia Wasikowska in the title role. Jane Eyre is a shy and demure governess that slowing falls in love with her employer, only to uncover a hornet’s nest of secrets that will stand between their passion. Befriended by the master’s housekeeper, played by Dame Judi Dench, the nineteen year old Jane Eyre is forced to make some tough decisions and learn some hard lessons in life, love and living on her own. Jane Eyre captures some magnificent scenery and was shot on location in the English countryside. Artfully directed by Cary Fukunaga, Jane Eyre is rated PG-13 for brief nudity and minor violence.
