Gripping best describes the films that have been recently released to theaters. These engrossing movies are anything but common, and quickly grasp moviegoers attention from the opening scenes. In fact, these movies are from different genres, yet all are able to pull in the audience and keep them hooked. With dramatic themes, stimulating reenactments and stunning visuals, these films will fully absorb any movie lover.

Made in Dagenham is a limited release dramatization that is gaining a lot of attention. This movie is based on the true events from a 1968 strike at the Ford Dagenham car plant that involved its female workers. Fed up with the way they are being treated, these brave women take a stand and walk out in protest. Rita O’Grady, played by Sally Hawkins, leads these ladies in a fight for their rights. Standing together, these women fight against sexual discrimination and the right to be paid equally for the same work. With so much at stake now, Rita and her girls are determined to right the wrongs. This amazing, based on true events movie, is able to combine hints of comedy with drama, politics and tragedy; providing a little levity to such a provoking and serious topic.

Harry Potter fans everywhere are sure to love the new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. This stunning film is the first part of the final installment; created from the last Harry Potter book series. As many have followed Harry Potter and his friends, Ron and Hermioni, they have fallen in love with the story, themes, characters and atmosphere. This first half of the last films is nothing short of spectacular, and stars the beloved Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. In this film, the recurring and destined villain Voldemort is stronger than ever and has his grip on the Ministry of Magic, as well as Hogwarts. It is now up to Harry, Ron and Hermioni to finish what Dean Dumbledore started, all while searching for the rest of the Horcruxes. This will not be easy though, as these three must defy all odds and vanquish the Dark Lord, for their lives and all of the Wizardly World. This Harry Potter installment is simply astounding. The graphics are unreal and the atmosphere is spellbinding. If you have followed these characters since the beginning, or just love a great adventure film, then you will thoroughly enjoy this movie.

If you are looking for a drama, then you need to check out the new film The Next Three Days. This stimulating film stars Russel Crowe and Elizabeth Banks as married couple and John and Lara Brennan. In this dramatic film, the emotional wife and mother Lara is suddenly handcuffed and taken in for the charge of murder. While leading her innocence, Lara is yanked out of her home and thrown into jail. However, John is not about to let this happen and decides to protect his wife. Since no one else is willing to listen or help, John takes it upon himself to break Lara out of jail. From start to finish, this movie takes you on a wild and powerful adventure, all while you are left to ponder if she was wrongly accused or not. With tense situations and climatic scenes, this film is a must-see for anyone.

These films are breathtaking and powerful. From a recreation of true events, to an adventure installment and then a crime drama, these movies are amazing. Overall, these are wonderful films for moviegoers of differing ages and tastes.
