Upcoming Movie Releases

There is a lot going on at the theaters lately, and all for good reason. In fact, coming attractions are either limited in selection or give you a plethora to choose from, and this week is going to be your plethora. Hitting the theaters this week are some talked about films that range in category and interest.

One of the new releases this week is Easy A. This comedy is directed by Will Gluck and takes place in high school. Olive Penderghast, played by Emma Stone, is a normal high school student who happens to be studying The Scarlet Letter; little does she know that her life is soon to take a turn in that direction. When propositioned by a classmate to help improve his social standing in the school, Olive agrees to help create a rumor that will benefit the both of them. Noticing the benefits from this so easily fabricated event, Olive begins to help more of her fellow classmates achieve recognition. She is able to help the ones in need while also helping herself to more money and more attention. But how far will she go before it all backfires? This looks to be a funny and quirky movie that should have you laughing from the beginning.

Another new release to come to theaters is The Town. This movie stars and is directed by Ben Affleck. Affleck plays professional thief Doug MacRay who is really good at his chosen ‘career’. His attention turns however, when he meets and falls in love with bank teller Claire, played by Rebecca Hall, who has been traumatized by a recent bank heist. Standing in the way of their relationship though, is a nosy detective who is also in love with Claire and very close to uncovering MacRay’s crimes. One of which is the bank that he recently robbed where Claire works; only Claire has no idea that he was behind it all. Tensions grow and the intensity of the film engrosses you further into the plot. This film looks to be hard hitting and should be able to entertain and thrill you at the same time.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps is a sequel that has been anticipated for some time and is about to be released to theaters. This film stars the famous stockbroker Gorden Gekko who everyone loved to hate in the original Wall Street, but this time he has fallen from his reign at the top. Looking to get back to where he was, Gekko, played by Michael Douglas, decides to join together with the young Wall Street trader Jacob Moore, played by Shia LaBeouf. Moore is upset when his mentor is murdered and Gekko helps him to unravel the mystery behind his death and the enormous financial destruction about to happen. Will they be able to warn others of the financial breakdowns, or will they use this to their advantage? This film should be an intense drama with suspense and passion; likely to get you fully captivated and thoroughly thrilled.

With these films being so different you are sure to find one you will like. All of these release within the next week or so and have a strong appeal behind them. With such great plots and strong characters, these films will entertain you and give you something to talk about the next day.
